PENTAGRAMS - Symbols of protection or evil?

Recently, we have had comments made at the Emporium on some of the items we stock. To address some of those, in this article, we will discuss the ancient symbol of the Pentagram.

The Pentagram has been documented for thousands of years. It is made of 5 lines, that can be drawn in a continuous movement and is sometimes represented inside a circle (as pictured), then called a pentacle. Each of the 5 parts follows the golden ratio, and that may have contributed to the enduring attraction the Pentagram has held for so long.

The symbol of the Pentagram has been found on ancient money, tombs, adopted as a religious icon and used as a symbol of protection.

Though the Pentagram is often used and associated with the Neo Paganism Movement and the Modern Church of Satan, it does not stand for any one theme and in that sense does not belong to any one group.

We would encourage further reading for any of those interested in the subject. Knowledge is but a library away.
